Ensure User Performance and Safety
Just like there are a number of different NVGs to choose from, there are also different types of NVG helmets and helmet accessories available in the market. A helmet may need to be upgraded to allow for the NVG mount to attach to the helmet.
Most helmet manufacturers have adapted to the demand of the industry to operate with NVGs by offering an NVG visor upgrade to current helmets in order to accommodate NVG mounts. Some are a fixed mounting point on the helmet visor, but most offer a quick disconnect feature.
As part of helping clients plan and implement an total NVIS solution, Night Flight Concepts will source and train users on helmet types and handling to ensure equipment and user performance and safety.
Given the rigorous service requirements of night vision pilots, it is critical that helmets are appropriately sized, positioned, weighted and mounted to prevent undue health risks like neck stain and fatigue that can jeopardize operational safety. Proper helmet set-up is addressed via NVG equipment support and in NVG training. |
